Apples, Plums, Cherries

A version of The Cherry Tree Carol, which is both a Christmas carol and a Child Ballad. It was sung in some form from the early 15th century and here has a little introduction in Old English. I gathered together different versions, including texts by Cecil Sharp and Mystery VIII of the Coventry Mysteries, and the music is my own.

The work was written for Juice Vocal Ensemble and recorded by them on Snow Queens (Resonus, 2019). An easier, flexible choral version also exists in The Oxford Book of Flexible Carols, where it's called The Cherry Tree Carol.
