Spellsongs Choral Songbook

Ten arrangements from the phenomenally successful Spell Songs albums, themselves a response to the culturally sensational book The Lost Words by Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane. The songs were written by the Spell Songs band, comprising folk/trad./pop musicians Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Seckou Keita, Beth Porter, Rachel Newton, Jim Molyneux and Kris Drever. They celebrate the natural world and its words through song.

The songs can be bought individually or up to the whole set. Some are for unaccompanied SATB choir, and some have piano accompaniment. There are rehearsal tracks available for all songs.

The songs were commissioned by Folk by the Oak and premiered by Syrinx, Sound Choir, Chantage and Southend Boys' and Girls' Choirs at Sinfonia Smith Square on October 5th, 2025.
