Stella Matutina is a setting of St Bede's 'Christ is the Morning Star', from the 7th/8th century:
Christ is the morning star
Who when the night of this world is past
Brings his saints to the promise of the light of life
And promises everlasting day.
Stella Matutina was commissioned by Ampleforth College and premiered by Schola Cantorum on May 24th 2024 (recording to come).
