Criosda Liom A Cadal (SSAA)
A Celtic Prayer for SSAA, mezzo-soprano/alto solo and optional percussion
Line-up, style and pricing information
A Celtic prayer from Dusk Songs, my Compline Mass. It has an optional high hand bell part to be played by members of the choir. The mezzo-soprano/alto solo has a mantra-like part inspired by the sean nos traditional Irish folk style of singing. It's repeated three times, with the choir teasing out and echoing notes and sibilant syllables to create a shimmering effect.
Criosda Liom A Cadal was premiered as part of Dusk Songs by Ebor Singers at York Minster in 2005.
It is also available in an SATB version (also the recorded version here). Dusk Songs is also available in its entirety.
